08.19.09 - Coming to a Venue Near You
We're working hard on regional booking right now and are contacting over 20 cities within a 250-mile radius. So hopefully, we'll see you soon enough if you're not in the Columbus area. If you have a suggestion for a venue in your area, feel free to let us know at booking@collingwoodnights.com.

07.11.09 - Good Times at the Newport
The show last night with Bobaflex at the Newport Music Hall was a great time and we were glad to make and meet many of you new fans out there. A good handful of you got free discs last night and we hope to have you blasting it from your car windows in the coming days. If you want to burn a copy for a friend, by all means, do so. We have a couple more shows coming up in the Columbus area before focusing on regional shows again for a while, so we hope to see you soon!

07.03.09 - Thank You to The Other Paper (RANT!)
The Other Paper (Columbus based weekly paper) has seen fit to do a "review" of our Comfest performance. Written from a reviewer who was at Comfest on the Saturday we played, amongst quick mentions of other bands he saw, he said:

"There was a lot of bland hippie rock, and I really wish I could get back the five minutes of my life that I spent watching the watered-down nu-metal of Collingwood Nights on the main stage."

Since this is OUR website, we would like to comment on the article. First off, sincerest thanks for putting our name in bold print in the article as well as including a picture of us in the article (again with mention of the band name). This coupled with our name being again mentioned in the ad for our show at the Newport with Bobaflex (immediately opposite the article page and in the same spread) actually gave us better publicity along the lines of name repetitiion and recognition than we could afford to pay for. Second, Joel (our fearless reviewer) shows his need to meet an article deadline with disregard for journalism. For a three-day music festival with hundreds of bands across six stages, the review only covered six bands on three of those stages and the reviewer admits that he was only able to attend the festival on one day and even then, spent pretty much all his time at one stage (which is conveniently located next to a beer booth). In addition, he asks for the "five minutes of his life" back while watching us. Five minutes? Is that really enough time to label a band? To give Joel some credit, he did not apply massive slams to every band he mentioned, a habit that has become all-too-common from local reviewers in local papers. And he is certainly entitled to his opinion. We understand that there are more than a handful of people out there that will not care for our music or our style and will downright think we suck. We can respect that. We only wish that a "review" would be based more on our overall performance and set - not a snippet.

Regardless, anyone in the entertainment industry knows that any publicity is good publicity (if you don't believe us, go ask Britney Spears or Lindsey Lohan). So from that point of view, thank you to The Other Paper and Joel Oliphint for including us.

05.22.09 - CN to Perform on Main Stage at ComFest 2009
Collingwood Nights was selected to perform on the main stage at ComFest 2009 on Saturday, June 27 at 4:30pm. This is a great opportunity to perform in front of hundreds of people who might not otherwise be exposed to our music. Being a Community Festival, there is no admission and you can also bring anyone at any age. ComFest is held every year at Goodale Park (corner of Neil Ave and Goodale). There will be local vendors, beer tents, several stages with varying styles of music, children's area and multiple playgrounds and more! We hope to see everyone out there this year! Please remember that ComFest is volunteer-run. So please keep make sure to put your recycling and trash (yes, this includes cigarette butts) in the appropriate bins which are located all over the park for this event.

03.11.09 - New Website Online!
We have posted our new website with a sleeker look and easier-to-access areas. We hope you take some time to browse the website and check out some of our new media items. Additional Collingwood Nights wallpapers, screensavers, and other downloads are coming soon!

03.09.09 - New Songs Being Recorded
We are currently recording our newer, post-album songs. Many of you have heard these songs live and we have received excellent reviews and feedback on the new material. We're not sure what's going to come of these recordings...perhaps an EP for a late 2009 release. There's also a good chance that we will make the songs available for listening on our myspace page as they reach a state of completion. Continue to keep an eye (and ear) out for the new tunes...we hope you like them!

03.05.09 - New Pics Coming Soon
We recently finished a new photo shoot with our new bassist. The new pics will be posted both on the website and on our myspace page as they become available from our photographer. Extra special thanks to Mel from Digital Compositions for doing such a great job with the shoot and making these our best promotional shots yet!

02.14.09 - CN Comes to Cincinnati in May
We will be making our first appearance in the Cincinnati area on May 7th, 2009 at Dirty Jack's. If you live in or near the Cincinnati area, we would love to see you at the show. Please let your friends know so that we can have a good first outing and ensure stronger gigs in the area down the stretch.

02.02.09 - Upcoming Show with Bobaflex in Cambridge
Collingwood Nights is happy to announce the booking of a show with WV favorite, Bobaflex, on February 14 at Shaker's Nite Club in Cambridge, OH. Tickets can be purchased through us or through Ticketmaster. Visit us on our myspace page for more details.

01.10.09 - Collingwood Nights Welcomes New Bassist
We are pleased to announce the addition of our new bassist, Connor Macdonald, to our family. It is sad to see Nick Ridolfo go, but life happens and we wish him nothing but the best with his future endeavors. We will be playing a show at CBRs in Columbus, OH on January 31 to introduce Connor to all of you. We hope to see you there!

10.13.09 - Bassist Nick Ridolfo Says Goodbye
Life happens and as it turns out, this time it has happened to our bassist, Nick Ridolfo. Nick is leaving the band to pursue other interests and his family and we support him in everything he does. For anyone who has seen Nick perform live, you will agree that he is an amazing bassist with an unmatched stage energy. Nick has been and still is an amazing bassist and friend and we wish him well with his future. We will be playing a final show with Nick and we look forward to seeing you all out there. Our search for a new bassist has begun and we will be working hard to get back on the scene with as minimal downtime as possible. We thank you all for your patience during this transition and looking forward to seeing you soon!

07.24.08 - A2N Linkin Park Results
Alas, we were not selected as a winner in the A2N Linkin Park (Projekt Revolution) competition but we did at least finish in the top 12 for all Ohio bands that entered. And we thank you for that. Our congratulations go out to Patchwork, User Sets Mode, and State Your Cause - the three selected winners in the competition. We ask that you all check them out on the sidestage at one of the Projekt Revolution shows near you.

07.04.08
Happy 4th of July! We're hanging in there in our contest with MTV2 and A2N to open for Linkin Park at the two Ohio Projekt Revolution shows this year. You have all kept us in the top 12 since day one and we love you for it. Please continue to keep voting. The voting period is open until July 9th at which point the top 12 at that point will be judged and three will be selected to win the gig. Thank you again for all of your overwhelming support. This is a great opportunity and has also exposed our music to a crowd we had not previously reached yet.
