about collingwood nights
Based out of Columbus, Ohio, Collingwood Nights is a melodically-driven band with a formulaic approach on progressive popular music. The band was formed in 2006 and after parting with their original singer in 2007, introduced Jef Shaffer as their new vocalist. With a clean vocal slate, fresh approaches and lyrics were applied to the already powerful music. They released their full-length album, mind body & love in April of 2008, selling over four hundred copies locally in the first week following its release. Collingwood Nights began booking more shows on a regional scale to promote their album and are currently on the same path, while preparing new music for a an album in 2010.
Their debut CD, mind body & love, is a tale of loss, hope, and failed redemption, following a main character in the final days of life, facing a torrent of emotion and regret. This powerful story adds to the depth of the album's music, melodies, and inspired progressions.
